The Family Jewels Pie-K

March 14, 2020

The Family Jewels Pie-K was an annual 5K trail run, 1-mile trail walk or 0K “Just Sit and Eat Pie” at Kenmore, WA’s Saint Edward State Park, in memory of Bothell XC runner Jaimeson Jones.  Jaimeson died on October 7, 2010, at the age of 20, of cancer. In Jaimeson’s memory, we award scholarships to local families who have endured childhood cancer.  We still award these scholarships, and we never stop talking about testicular cancer, but the Pie-K did not survive COVID, tragically.  Our last one, cancelled just three days before, would have been our tenth, and fell on Jaimeson’s actual would-be 30th birthday.  It was a sorrowful, but necessary, decision to have to make.

BUT:  You can join us at our annual Family Jewels Kenmore Ball Crawl!  Whaaaaat???  Click on the Events dropdown above and then Ball Crawl, and come join us every April (Testicular Cancer Awareness Month) on Kenmore’s Brew Row.  Visit our locally-famous Nut Hut (whaaaat???), get some swag and a pint glass, and drink beer and coffee to #SaveGuysLives!
