Stephen Zehnder
Stephen Zehnder is a Personal Banking Consultant with First Financial Northwest Bank located in Bothell. Originally from West Los Angeles, Stephen was involved in local organizations starting at a young age, volunteering and participating in community events, including the Boy Scouts of America, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. This was when he wasn’t spending time practicing the Saxophone, or training for his local Swim/Dive team. Stephen Graduated from Santa Monica College in 2012 with an Associate’s Degree in Business and Finance, having worked his way through College in a retail environment.
Stephen moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2015 and since then has embraced the local culture. In 2019, after becoming employed by First Financial Northwest Bank, Stephen also fell back in love with community involvement. This particularly fed his craving to spread awareness and education, driven by a desire to make sure that everyone has the tools they need to make their best decisions.
When he is not working or volunteering, Stephen can be found at home experimenting with new recipes; at the movies; at a farmer’s market; or wandering around on a hiking trail. Stephen currently lives in Kenmore and likes to stay active in the local community.

Nancy Balin
Nancy Balin was born in Massachusetts, the eldest of three daughters. She attended public schools in Andover and then graduated cum laude from Tufts University. She was lured to the Pacific Northwest by a nanny job in Kirkland when she was 24, and she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and never left. Nancy received her J.D. from University of Puget Sound Law School (now Seattle University School of Law) and spent most of her legal career in public service for King County, Washington. During that time, she welcomed a daughter and son into her life through marriage. That son, Jaimeson Jones, was diagnosed with testicular cancer at age 14, went into remission at 15, relapsed at 19 and died at age 20. A few months after Jaimeson’s death, Nancy put together the first Family Jewels 5K and has put them on annually ever since.
In late 2017, having founded and run the Family Jewels Foundation part-time for seven years while working full-time as a lawyer, Nancy retired from lawyering to devote her full-time efforts to the Foundation, realizing that she had been given a life’s work that deserved as much time as she could give it.
